Some companies will attempt to stitch the cloth back together on a pool table or even try and glue it back down. However, this is bad practice, not only would this look bad but will also affect the role of the playing surface; sending the ball in the wrong direction. You could also incur a call out fee averaging around £50. In the long run it is more cost effective to replace the cloth completely.
Our prices start from around £150 to recover the existing bed and cushions. The cost will depend on your location and the size and type of table being recovered.
Yes it can. Quite simply, it is more cost effective to have the work carried out at your home or workplace.
Standard UK pool tables take on average 2-3 hours to recover and an American pool table will take 4-6 hours.
There are many factors why you may have bad bounce on your pool table. The most common reasons are that the rubbers become hard resulting in no bounce; or soft rubbers sending the balls in the wrong direction. You may also find there is not enough tension on the cloth which occurs naturally over a period of time depending on the number of hours of play. It is worth checking cushions prior to calling us, most cushions can be replaced or new rubbers fitted, depending on the make or type of table. We may ask you to send us information about the table size and make; or ask you to send us a photograph of the table before proceeding with this service.
Over a period of time your tables will need to be serviced on a cloth with a directional nap; it may be a simple case of brushing and ironing to remedy. You may also feel a cloth is too slow, if you’re playing on a different table than usual you may discover it’s different to the one at your local pool hall. This can be due to different types of cloth as a cloth with a nap will role a lot slower than a nap less speed cloth. There are also many different makes and grades of cloth with a tighter weave which may run faster than a lighter weight cloth. It’s more down to player’s personal preference than right or wrong.
For busy venues with paying customers, it is good practice to have the tables recovered every six month, which will keep your customers happy. Tables used less frequently, such as in a private home, will last a lot longer. Please keep in mind it is the number of hours of play that will wear a cloth down not how long the cloth has been fitted on your table.
