Some companies may try to stitch or glue a torn cloth, but we wouldn’t recommend it. Not only will this spoil the look of your pool table, but it will also affect the roll of the playing surface; sending the ball in the wrong direction. You could also incur a call-out fee, averaging around £75. In the long run, it is more cost-effective to replace the cloth completely.

Most standard recovers take 1-2 hours depending on the table and condition. We work efficiently on site so your table is ready to use the same day. There are many factors which may affect the bounce of your pool table. The most common reasons are that the rubber has gone hard, resulting in no bounce; or the rubber is too soft, sending the balls in the wrong direction.

You may also find there is not enough tension on the cloth, which occurs naturally over a period of time, depending on the number of hours of play.

It is worth checking cushions prior to calling us, most cushions can be replaced, or new rubbers fitted, depending on the make or type of table. We may ask you to send us information about the table size and make, or we may ask you to send us a photograph of the table before proceeding with this service.

Payment is due on completion of the work. We accept cash, bank transfer (BACS), or chip and pin payments.

Ownership of goods remains the property of Pool Table Recovers until paid for in full.

Over a period of time, your table may need to be serviced on a cloth with a directional nap; it may be a simple case of brushing and ironing to remedy.

You may also feel a cloth is too slow, if you’re playing on a different table than usual you may discover it’s different to the one at your local pool hall. This can be due to different types of cloth, as a cloth with a nap will roll a lot slower than a napless speed cloth.

There are also many different makes and grades of cloth. For example, a cloth with a tighter weave, may run faster than a lighter weight cloth. It’s more down to players’ personal preference than a question of it being right or wrong.

For busy venues with paying customers, it is good practice to have the tables recovered every six months, which will keep your customers happy. Tables used less frequently, such as in a private home, will last a lot longer. Please keep in mind, it is the number of hours of play that will wear a cloth down, not how long the cloth has been fitted on your table.
